Civility 05/05

Unconditional acceptance for the other person is evidence of Jesus residing in us. Experiencing the power to be the calm presence who is not rattled or reactive to provoking statements is His love overflowing. I’m learning the importance of saying less and praying more during those trying conversations. Searching for the way Jesus would respond helps calm my natural tendency to react, defend myself, or strike back. His deep residing peace is overrides my self driven emotions. May we grasp His presence when we ordinarily would like to be uncivil.

“The kingdom comes when Jesus becomes the King of your life, and it has to be your life.” - Paul E. Miller, A Praying Life
