Slowing down to appreciate and enjoy our Father is a challenge to our busy lifestyle. Nearly everything we do in our culture is ramped up to get it done quickly. A hurried lifestyle is one of the biggest obstacles to growing deeper as a Christ follower. While working at school I remember coming across a blog that said we need to take a one or two minute vacation during the day, whether it was taking a short gratitude walk, looking out the window to appreciate the outdoors, or revising a list of people we are grateful for, then pray for them. Slowing down to appreciate the smell of the flowers is so important to our physical and emotional health, but our relationship to Him.
