Experiencing His love in our hearts can’t happen if we don’t recognize what He has done for us. Knowing how ugly my sin is, how far my thoughts can take me, shows me that I cannot save myself from my own temptations. I need a Savior who loves me. The shepherds were changed me after God’s intervention. They probably went back to their hillsides and grass meadows to take care of their smelly sheep. But they had a different view about life and a new purpose for living. The same for us - we have a new viewpoint of who we are and what we are all about.
