Joy 3

Celebrating Christ’s birth is for everyone, regardless of status or background. Worshipping the King of kings in our hearts can be as joyful and deep as we want, but filtering out the distractions is essential. As Tozer has said, we want as much of God as we choose. I wonder if our comfy culture detracts us from seeing His intentional love more than a person in poverty or financial need?  Can a person traumatized by misfortune or evil see their need for Christ’s redeeming love?  I’m sure there are different answers for each person, but I want to have my eyes wide open to what He is doing in the hearts of those around me, never taking for granted His love. 

It doesn’t matter who you are—the joy of Christmas is for everyone: the rich, the poor, the happy, the lonely, the forgotten, and the greatly loved.
