The drama at the foot of the cross demonstrates what is Halle king in the hearts of everyone who looks at the cross. The riotous crowd has people who got caught up with the fervor in the moment, not considering what was really happening. Many in the crowd were angry because of the political turmoil and the oppressive Roman government. Others wanted to stay neutral and be spectators.
