King 3

Trying to understand why bad things happen to good people is a fruitless pursuit. The Psalms are full of lament and complaining, and the book of Jib is a masterpiece story. The disciples experienced a life threatening storm but learned that the Creator was with them souring the chaos. Learning to handle the why questions of life yet trust the One who knows every detail is a master class on wisdom. May we each grow in this wisdom topic!

If the sight of Jesus bowing his head into that ultimate storm is burned into the core of your being, you will never say, “God, don’t you care?” And if you know that he did not abandon you in that ultimate storm, what makes you think he would abandon you in the much smaller storms you’re experiencing right now? And, someday, of course, he will return and still all storms for eternity.” - Timothy J. Keller, Jesus the King Study Guide: Exploring the Life and Death of the Son of God
