Experiencing deep friendship assures us that we are loved and accepted. When any one of our friends is wounded by a hurt or suffers, we suffer with them. Jesus went far beyond the norm as a friend. How could the Creator of the universe be that interested in each of us? Shedding His blood for us demonstrated His love like no other act of friendship. One huge take away for me is that He continues to draw us to Himself, accepting us as we are, despite our lack of love in return.
