How are you growing in your faith and maturity? For me, just when I think I’ve got an issue mastered, I’m having to relearn that I must trust my Father in ways I haven’t. The illustration of our faith in God as a maturing child helps me to trust Him more. The minute I think I’ve hit a corner on the wisdom market, that I’ve grown smarter than the other guy, I’d better watch out! I sometimes imagine myself as a small child sitting on my Father’s lap, or walking beside Him on a long walk, asking Him questions, trying to understand what He is saying. As I imagine the Father / child relationship, my perspective on most issues changes and I sense His presence.
