1 John 12

Young men need the old and old men need the young. Children rejuvenate us and help us re-prioritize what is important, even though our energy weakens. We need each other, of all ages, to keep life in perspective, but also to grow in maturity. Older men need to grow deep just as much as the young man. Too often we isolate ourselves, perhaps not by choice. It takes effort to reach out to others with the goal of growing together. The evil in our world would like nothing better than isolate and divide. God’s plan is to work together in collaboration with Him.

“THE PERSON AND GOSPEL of Jesus Christ—building on simple “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so”—is the only complete answer to the false and destructive images and ideas that control the life of those away from God. The process of spiritual formation in Christ is one of progressively replacing those destructive images and ideas with the images and ideas that filled the mind of Jesus himself.” - Dallas Willard, Renovation of the Heart

“Were it not for the Holy Spirit’s living within us, and the spiritual resources we have in prayer, Christian fellowship, and the Word, we could never “make it” here on earth. We complain about the pollution of earth’s atmosphere—the atmosphere of “the world” is also so polluted spiritually that Christians cannot breathe normally!” - Excerpt, Be Real (1 John) by Warren W. Wiersbe
