Learning to not be offended, to over look offenses is a daily challenge. I’ve been more empowered to have that mindset by grasping His love and resting in the simplicity. Our world is full of chaos and we need each other as we follow Christ. Not being distracted and disappointed is key as we focus on the hope He shines in our lives.
“Choosing to be unoffendable means choosing to be humble. Not only that, the practice teaches humility. Once you’ve decided you can’t control other people; once you’ve reconciled yourself to the fact that the world, and its people, are broken; once you’ve realized your own moral failure before God; once you’ve abandoned the idea that your significance comes from anything other than God, you’re growing in humility, and that’s exactly where God wants us all.” - Brant Hansen
“It is not good for you and me to be alone. Toughing it out is not a virtue. In fact, it’s a recipe for overwhelm, exhaustion, isolation, and addiction. God’s design for interdependence, relationship, and a vulnerable “knowing and being known” is where we thrive. We need to be seen and known amidst our challenges.” - Chuck DeGroat, Healing What’s Within
