I used to think that following Christ was nearly impossible to do each and everyday. My ‘to do’ list was long and I felt overwhelmed with trying to integrate another agenda into an already packed day. But walking with Christ is far different than trying to do things for Him. His path is not a burden. The more I realize how much He loves each of us, that He is gentle and humble, nit pushing His way upon me, I want to be around this type of lifestyle more and more. His presence is filled with compassion, enabling me to talk all issues out with Hom, not hiding one thing. Surrendering to Him increases my faith, hope and love in ways I never thought possible.
“It is quite clear that between love and understanding there is a very close link...He who loves understands, and he who understands loves. One who feels understood feels loved, and one who feels loved feels sure of being understood.” - Paul Tournier
“Christians live in a real world and are beset with formidable obstacles. It is not easy to obey God. It is much easier to drift with the world, disobey Him, and “do your own thing.”
“But the Christian is “born of God.” This means he has the divine nature within him, and it is impossible for this divine nature to disobey God. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world” (1 John 5:4 NASB). If the old nature is in control of us, we disobey God, but if the new nature is in control, we obey God. The world appeals to the old nature (1 John 2:15–17) and tries to make God’s commandments seem burdensome.” - Excerpt, Be Real (1 John) by Warren W. Wiersbe
