What would it be like to view others like Jesus did? When we are interacting with another person, what if we saw them as Jesus would? Would our response and our questions be different? Would we remember who we really are and what our mission is? Jesus has compassion for everyone, including the non Jewish in this story. He demonstrated what it was like to go outside the box, to break the norm. But He also strongly taught to remember the lessons He has taught us I think I have amnesia!!
“Every time you choose presence over panic,
Scripture over scrolling,
Worship over worry,
You’re forming a faith that can withstand the storm.”
- Em Tyler
“When Jesus wanted to feed the crowd, the disciples resisted. “How can one feed these people with bread here in the desert?” (Mark 8:4). Their past experience could have answered their question, but instead, they said, “It can’t be done.” They did not want to deal with the Gentile crowd.
Once again, Jesus used what was available—seven loaves and a few small fish. Blessing them, he broke them and gave them to the disciples to distribute among the crowd. Once again, everyone was fed, and their hunger completely satisfied. Once again, they collected the leftover pieces, “seven baskets full” (Mark 8:8).” - Excerpt, Following Jesus: Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark by Steve Langford
