Experiencing God’s Best 8/14

Obedience has a negative tone in our culture because it is associated with being forced to do something, destroying our independence. I’m sure there would be a huge disagreement about what obedience to God means in our culture. But from Scripture, the view changes to a choice, or a decision to follow Christ out of love for Him. Being compelled to obey is a freedom of living like no other philosophy or belief system. Obeying Him is life changing, leading us to an inner character change and the fruits of living by the Spirit.

Philippians 2:12-13

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,  for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
