Tonight we attended Glenola’s funeral visitation. She had no children and treated others as she wanted to be treated - with love and respect. Each person felt accurate and loved in her presence. But church going family or neighbors don’t seem to get it. Attending the visitation, sending flowers , or treating others with respect seem to be based on a mistaken idea that life is about them. Show and blow, making sure you are noticed as important is the goal. Jesus made others feel accepted, but challenges to live better, and recalculate motives. Status quo was not the norm for Christ followers. We should expect to think on our feet to respond to ungodly false information.
Have we been taught that church is checking in. The rules are to go to church and know enough to get to haven. Cheap grace is just knowing enough.
