Hope 2/24

Isn’t it good that the Bible holds nothing back?  Complaints, lament, and frustration are evident by Biblical heroes. There is no pretending that life will always be comfortable or that we will always have answers to our questions. Living in tension with God’s promises but in a broken world is our reality. How are you handling your disappointments, disillusions, or discouragement?  David’s confident faith meant that he could voice what was on his heart.  His hope was not a shallow fake wish, but a confident anticipation.

“Someone has expressed these three truths as they relate to us in this way: “God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom He always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.” - Jerry Bridges, Trusting God: Even When Life Hurts
