Renovation 12

Transformation of the soul—which is the sum of the whole person—is less about what we do and more about what we do not do. It requires a posture of rest, reliance, and a firm realization that God is great, good, and active.”

I have had a hard time grasping this truth. Being transformed is not meeting a performance standard or checking off a list of expectations. Being changed into His likeness is resting in His love, which is a radical change to our identity. Being a child of our King puts us into a posture of worship, listening to His voice, surrendering our performance standard. Resting in Him is knowing that He is networking events, circumstances and interactions to make Him known. Let’s anticipate Him to show us our next moment to worship Him and make Him famous in all that we are doing, thinking and feeling.
