I want to avoid burnout as an older person. Burnout from listening to negativity and seeing people give up on hope. Those who have lived to be famous or have prestige but realize they will never make the grade is discouraging. Some have worked hard to make a lot of money only to discover it didn’t provide happiness is a huge disappointment. I’m thinking the American church has contributed to this problem because the older church attender is just as useless as the rest of society. Our main mission should be to be effective at discipling disciple makers, not going with the organized church programs.
