Samuel Rutherdord: “You will not be carried to Heaven lying at ease upon a feather bed.” I wonder if we really knew the battle raging around us between good and evil, it would shock us into disciplined fervent praying. My indifference and laziness regarding prayer time hasn’t been as bad lately, but I can easily slip. The tyranny of urgent things on my to do list get me distracted, but if I can merge the to do list, and the negativity around us with praying, maybe I’ll be more of disciplined and restless with prayer.
