As we witness the major changes happening in our culture, it’s easy to be shocked and outraged regarding the rebellion of past values and morality. But my anger about the changes haven’t changed anyone’s trajectory in life. The statements in today’s reading hit me: “ …we would do well to remember that at the very heart of the gospel is the cross…. Instead, they prayed that they would declare the gospel “with all boldness.” I hope we can find creative ways to connect with those who are searching for purpose and meaning, that we will be bold in communicating the gospel with clarity.
“What do I lose when I have a praying life? Control. Independence. What do I gain? Friendship with God. A quiet heart. The living work of God in the hearts of those I love. The ability to roll back the tide of evil. Essentially, I lose my kingdom and get his. I move from being an independent player to a dependent lover. I move from being an orphan to a child of God.” - Paul E. Miller, A Praying Life
"Do we want to grow in boldness? Then we must embrace our weakness before God, and He will lead us to faith-filled boldness before others." —Alistair Begg
