Wisdom 6

It seems like there are so many situations requiring wisdom that are beyond me. Coming up with an immediate solution is almost impossible because of the ramifications to any alternative. But if you and I know God’s word, we have His principles in mind. We will consider how a decision affects others, whether it will honor God, and be caring, full of faith and hope for the future. We probably will not hear an audible voice telling us which way to go, but we may receive an internal sense if His will, confirmed by Scripture and the wise advice of trusted friends. Few other people know our heart, whether we are truly trusting God completely, not leaning on our own understanding. But having such people in our lives is a wise strategy for future decisions and dilemmas that are sure to come.

"The Psalms seem obsessed with God’s eagerness to reach out to the humble. God saves the humble, guides the humble, sustains the humble, and even crowns the humble. Notice that everything flows from God to the humble servant." @garyLthomas on @myfaithradio

“What we are looking for in reading the Bible is the ability to turn the two-dimensional words on paper into a three-dimensional encounter with God, so that the text takes on life and meaning and depth and perspective and gives us direction for what to do today.” - Scot McKnight
