Grace vs Burden

Two priests who conducted the funeral service for Brick Smesra did it the Catholic way. The only hope offered to the family was to pray hard for Brock to be released from purgatory. The command was not just for Brock but for his grandparents. The history of the Catholic doctrine was to to place a huge guilt burden upon the people, not just for prayers, but for contributions to mass ceremony so that the great cathedrals could be built.

Alex Daum, the night before, at the TBF dinner, was so excited to proclaim God’s grace through Jesus. At the same dinner, Lisa Schulte thanked me for showing her in high school a different way to think, helping her to break away from Catholicism.

Worship at church was truly focused on the fact that Jesus is with us. The promises one in Isaiah has come and will come again.
