Renovation 14

How would our culture be different if every church took the task of discipleship seriously?  Once a person sure sees their life tk Christ, what if part of the deal is to be discipled one on one or in a small group by someone who has followed Jesus for a while?  What if every believer in Christ had an overwhelming passion to disciple someone else?  I think our culture would be less divided and more at peace. Starting new churches would be a constant strategic plan and generous giving would initiate new projects to help the needy. I wonder how often I’ve watered down the passion of what Jesus is all about.

“Bluntly, to serve God well we must think straight; and crooked thinking, unintentional or not, always favors evil. And when the crooked thinking gets elevated into group orthodoxy, whether religious or secular, there is always, quite literally, “hell to pay.” That is, hell will take its portion, as it has repeatedly done in the horrors of world history.” - Dallas Willard, Renovation of the Heart: Putting On the Character of Christ
