I took notes while reading this today:
There are five main ways in which God guides us (the five CSs): -
) commanding Scripture - guiding us into a close relationship with our Father, wisdom
2) counsel of the saints - others have walked before us and many are willing to give us help because they have our best interests at heart
3) Compelling Spirit - I’m no expert, but God gives us direction with a hunch, a gut level feeling, that lines up with all the other sources of wisdom
4) Common sense - taking risks takes courage but common sense that does not risk too much, especially our reputation and witness as Christ followers
5) Circumstantial Signs - we may have to wait for the right time, right place and right people
