Trials and tests can come in waves. Like a torrential river out of control, a person could be overcome. But like Psalm 42 proclaims, our hope is in God, not circumstances. If we are victims of whatever comes our way, despair could rule our way of life. But we have every reason to anticipate good in our lives, despite anything negative. It’s very hard to not worry in a culture that is driven by fear. But saturating ourselves with the counter cultural thinking of the Bible is key. I’m tweaking one of Nicky’s prayers:
Lord, thank you that you have set your affection on us, loved us and want us to draw near to You. Help Blake and me to be in awe of You, to walk in all Your ways, to love You and to serve You with all our being. May we honor You by the way we live. .
