iInside Out 24

I wonder if being indifferent is as bad as hate. Not caring about the things God is concerned about could be worse than being polarized on an issue. I can be indifferent or oblivious to the needs of others while in a crowd. I am more empathic when one on one with a person. But not long ago, while waiting in a doctor’s office, I imagined everyone in the room in two groups - those who are privately searching for God and those who don’t care. Our Father is constantly searching  the entire earth for those who are seeking Him. I need to step up my awareness to care more, regardless of the circumastances or situation.

“For much of our lives, we live in the shallows. Then something happens — a crisis, a birth, a death — and we get this glimpse of tremendous depth. My soul becomes shallow when my interests and thoughts go no further than myself. A person should be deep because life itself is deep.” - John Ortberg, Soul Keeping: Caring For the Most Important Part of You
