Isn’t it amazing that the Scriptures are full of complaint and lament, questions that reflect doubts in the middle of a troubling predicament? There is no pie in the sky dippy-da-do-day theme in the Bible. Faith in our Creator Sustainer God of the universe is simple but as deep as we want it to be. We experience as much of God’s presence as we desire. He is constantly searching for those yearn for His presence. Protecting ourselves from the enemy’s deceit and discord also means keeping life simple, rest and solitude, deep worship, and not over extending ourselves. Living by the Spirit is not living a flesh motivated say in self sufficiency.
