We will never understand why bad things happen, not why some experience hardship their entire lives. We do not see the big picture of what is happening. I issued to think that life can be full of ‘accidents’ and there was little we can do to avoid them. But God can and does work to being good out of the bad. We can trust God to be safe, but life with Him is full of risk and danger. If we maintain an eternal perspective, and we act on the belief that God is good, He will provide ghe grace and mercy we need in the heat of the moment.
Absolom caused David a lot of heart ache, manipulating people and news events to conspire against the king. Perhaps David could have prevented this rebellion, but Davis kept on trusting that God was good and just.
