1 John 8

Is it hard to break free from being judgmental?  It seems like we have a culture of categorizing individuals groups into levels of success or achievement. In passion, I’m very guilty if condemning myself for not measuring g up to all kinds of expectations, many of them self imposed. I am either congratulating myself for not being like such and such but the next moment I’m under the weight of my own condemnation. But it developing discernment to tk what is good and evil is a mark of maturity. We need to become so Christ like that we can filter out all kinds of evil even if it’s dressed and worded with Christian terms.

“The lie of the serpent, of course, is that you’re all alone. That you’ll always be alone. That you’re better off alone. The serpent’s lie echoes within, a primal trauma whispering, “God can’t be trusted. Go it on your own.” If trauma is, indeed, not what happened to us but what happens within in the absence of a compassionate witness, if trauma is our aloneness with our pain, then it’s risky, indeed, to consider abandoning our ways of self-medicating and waiting in the dark.” - Chuck DeGroat, Healing What’s Within

And if we believe that God is everywhere, why should we not think Him present even in the coincidences that sometimes seem so strange? For, if He be in the things that coincide, He must be in the coincidence of those things.” - George MacDonald
