1 John 29

Testing what is true Faith is just as important today as ever. The dark forces of this world seem to be having their say undermining, dividing and discouraging many. The Merida are many and the consequences have ripple effects. Nit to be negative and sarcastic, but we do have great hope that we can honestly test what is good and beautiful in our faith. A valid filter is that He loves us. Much of the toxic stuff in our culture between many church goers is filled with entitlement, disgust toward those who disagree with their ‘self’ righteousness. We are called to search for the kingdom and ‘His’ righteousness in all humility, demonstrating grace and mercy in our ordinary moments. The idols of our day are wrapped in power, position, possessions and status, implying that we must enter the tunnel of comparing ourselves, calculating whether we meet the calculations of earthly rewards

We must picture hell as a state where everyone is perpetually concerned about his own dignity and advancement, where everyone has a grievance, and where everyone lives with the deadly serious passions of envy, self-importance, and resentment.” - C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters

“Love, therefore, is a valid test of true Christian faith. Since God is love, and we have claimed a personal relationship with God, we must of necessity reveal His love in how we live. A child of God has been “born of God,” and therefore he shares God’s divine nature. Since “God is love,” Christians ought to love one another. The logic is unanswerable!” - Excerpt, Be Real (1 John) by Warren W. Wiersbe
