Mark 3-1

The desperate plea by Jairus to seek out Jesus, even in the crowd, demonstrates his faith that Jesus could do something. How desperate is my praying, my seeking the kingdom?  I’d have to answer that I’m usually half hearted, in comparison to Jairus. But I have had experiences that drove me to my knees, pleading with God to show up. My heart has been broken and I’m sure there will be more times ahead. Life is not perfect and we live in a very broken world. But our loving Father truly cares and He will NEVER leave us or abandon us.

The great news of God’s revelation is not simply that God exists, but also that God is actively present. Our God is a God who cares, heals, guides, directs, challenges, confronts, corrects, and forms us. God is a God who wants to lead us closer to the full realization of our lionhearted humanity, if you will. To be obedient means to be constantly attentive to this active presence and to allow God, who is only love, to be the source as well as the goal of all we think, say, and do.” - Henri Nouwen
