How have you responded to the times you have been overwhelmed? Maybe it’s been too many tasks, too much to handle in the time even, or too much grief to bear alone? The disciples seemed overwhelmed and had forgotten they were with the Creator of the universe. I’m so guilty of the same mindset, forgetting who is fight beside me, inside me, leading me as my Good Shepherd. Surely goodness and mercy will follow despite the chaos of today, yesterday, or tomorrow.

““Leslie Newbigin was once asked, ‘Are you an optimist or a pessimist?’ He responded, ‘I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead.’
The resurrection of Jesus is not simply the news that there is life after death. It is that God, who created this world, fully intends to redeem it. And if we live in that reality, if we live in the care of that kind of God, who Jesus came to show us, then our life is beyond. The invitation for you and me today is to be untroubled. To do that, to live like that may require us to upgrade our view of God, to upgrade our concept of God, to understand who it is that this God really wants us to be.” - adapted from
