Recovery from our obsession with false idols and our addictions takes a lifetime. We are in it for the long haul, as the Spirit uncovers new areas that have been affected by sin and our fixation on self. Cleaning up our mental mess involves intentional effort. It doesn’t happen over night nor can we expect a full miracle to clean up everything all at once. Becoming like Christ is seeing the many areas that sin is attached itself to who we are. We have a new identity in Jesus because He is in us.
