It’s very hard to counter the ups and downs of our emotions. Trauma and crises seem to take an accumulated toll on our nervous system, especially when we need rest or when we are not feeling well. But developing a rhythm and discipline of looking up, prayer, gratitude, confession, repentance, Bible reading, and listening to wisdom helps stabilize what was once emotional chaos.
