Trusting 12

Reading between the lines, one can imagine the inner turmoil that Joseph had. Was he full of regret?  Was he intensely bitter toward his family?  Did he have more animosity toward specific brothers?  Lots of questions but only indicators as answers. In the end he let it all go when he saw his brothers. He had to be surprised by the joy of seeing God’s hand in his life in numerous experiences.

No one knows the secret places of another person’s heart and mind. We are each careful to not divulge the dark memories or the bitterness that harbors deep in our minds. But as we grow in our love for what God has done, we realize that there is no condemnation toward us by our Savior. He has accomplished so much on our behalf

“What are the elements of transparent trust that will allow us to move gradually into the deep waters of transformation?

• Affirming one another through encouragement

• Walking with one another through difficult times

• Being a reflective listener who assists another to hear God's guidance in life's complexities

• Confessing our sins to one another that we may be healed” - Greg Ogden, Transforming Discipleship: Making Disciples a Few at a Time
