Many American slaves knew that Jesus was their authority, not the plantation owners. Their songs demonstrates their hope and perseverance to endure each day. Our world tries to divide us into the powerful and powerless. Many think that it is a waste of time to talk about obedience and surrender to Jesus as an actual way to live. But the evidence for the resurrection is undisputed. How can we neglect Him as our King, Savior, Lord. We have so much to be grateful for, giving us hope for now and ever.
