Path 2

 Jesus demonstrates that He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. The fig tree was the victim of Jesus demonstrating that He is also the Judge of reality, of what is really happens in our lives.  The fig tree was certainly an object lesson of who Jesus was in the lives of the disciples, but also in our lives  

This act is seen as an “acted parable.” The barren fig tree represents the unresponsiveness of Jerusalem and Israel to the presence and message of God’s Messiah. The cursing of the fig tree symbolizes the inevitable judgment that follows unproductivity. This interpretation aligns with the broader theme that judgment follows those who fail to respond rightly to God and His message1. - Logos Bible Study Software
