For some crazy reason, we think we are on a cruise ship in America, with no clue of the dangers below or ahead. It’s full steam ahead, living it up. Our identity and sense of purpose can get so wrapped up in protecting our comforts that we neglect an eternal purpose for living. Integrity can easily become narcissistic, polluting the definition of authenticity. Adopting God’s values become optional or secondary issues. But following Christ is a radical change in who we are.
