Is it easier to follow Christ and grow in wisdom if you are motivated intrinsically? Being self motivated to grow can lead to pride while extrinsic people need structure and a program. But could it be that both have their pitfalls. Intrinsic hearts can lead to prose and self sufficiency. Extrinsic hearts can rely on norms, rules, and programs. But surrendering to Christ is a rejection of the old way of doing life.
