Have you ever felt like a stranger in a crowd of people you knew? I’ve experienced those feelings more than once. Being a foreigner, an exile seems to be taught openly in the Scriptures. Our home, our sense of belonging is based on a different set of common denominators than the world’s systems. As our cultures slides further off the road into division and grumpiness, we can shine in the darkness, not participating in the dirt throwing contest. We are all sinners who need a Savior. I hope we are never threatened with execution for being the person who does the right thing. Being different can mean we are shunned or misunderstood, but living with no regret and no reservation is worth the effort.
