Uncertainty 10 - trials

Experiencing tests and trials change us in ways that we didn’t predict. How have they changed you?  For me, I’ve finally realized that there are many factors we cannot control in our lives. I cannot control what others say or do, nor can I prevent a crisis. A lot of problems and predicaments are long standing generational issues while others can never be predicted. The chaos that has taken place in my life has reduced my self sufficient independent and arrogant mindset. I do know that I can always depend on my Triune God, no matter what.

“Nobody moves toward real Christlikeness without humility. Humility is not a bad self-image or a nonassertive personality. Humility is an eager willingness to see where you are wrong in order to experience the power of God that has already made you fit for His presence.” - Larry Crabb

You aren’t imprisoned to the moment or circumstance you find yourself in because there is hope found in Christ! It no longer feels impossible to get out of or to overcome. We have a hope found in what Christ has already done, and what He will do in the future when He returns. When this fallen creation passes away and we are ushered into the new one, temptation and trial will no longer plague our lives. No matter how long you’ve been enduring a specific hardship, it is but a blink of an eye in the grand scheme of eternity. Having that perspective now gives fuel to fight in the midst of trial. We endure what’s temporary for what’s lasting. We live in a state of blessing. We give up the now for the eternal.   - Bible Memory Projrct
